Verse I
Me and Scarecrow
Dance down the brick road to town
Sometimes we stumble but know where we're bound
Verse II
Sometimes the wind blows
We're chased by the cautious crow off course
Heeding its warnings, we're bound for a change.
Chorus
Once a man said to me
At twenty an idealist you should be.
At forty leave your heart behind.
If not then you've lost your mind.
Verse III
Me and Scarecrow
Are sitting on the port side we row
Through the stagnant water with one oar in
Verse IV
Sometimes the boat rocks
The starboard side yells head for the docks
It's always safer back on shore.
Chorus
Verse V
Me and Scarecrow
Watch as the lies grow like the nose
On Pinocchio's face, at least we can laugh.
Verse VI
We pass by the tin man
He squeaks for his oil can
Revived! We're on our way to the land of Oz
Chorus
