Verse I
Little girl running through the fields
I drive by my heart is like a wheel
You wave to me as I pass by
I look back and my heart heaves a silent sigh
Verse II
I'm just looking for that place
Down a Kansas interstate
Miles from nowhere
A detour to somewhere or a sign to that road.
Chorus
That road that will carry us away to a place like Paradise or Eden.
They're small towns that our time has left far behind.
On a golden wheat plain we'll find our way home again
And we'll have St. Christopher as our guide.
Verse III
If there's a heaven on this earth
Be at the genesis of my birth.
Crossing bridges along the way
I'd have no regrets for what I can say.
Verse IV
Can mortality be that far?
And heaven's just a distant star?
Do we journey to the garden's end?
Or can we navigate and set out on that road.
Chorus
